The air flow movement is typically measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). For instance, Kaze Appliance SE90T bathroom fan with 90 CFM can move 90 cubic feet of air in 1 minute. According to HVI (Home Ventialtion Institution), the minimum ventilation requirement is 1 CFM per square foot of space based on 8' ceiling. Therefore, a 8' x 10' bathroom with 8' high ceiling would require a minimum of 80 CFM fan.

Noise level :
Noise level is also a consideration when selecting bathroom ventilation. Bathroom fan sound levels are measured in sones: 4.0 sones is the sound of standard television operation; 3.0 sones is typical office noise; 1.0 sones is the sound of a refrigerator; and 0.5 sones is the sound of rustling leaves. For quiet bathroom ventilation the fan should be rated at 1.0 sones or less.
Shop by quietness:
Ultra quiet (less than 0.5 sones)
Very Quiet (less than 1.1 sones)
Quiet (2 to 4 sones)

The warranty on Kaze Appliance bathroom exhaust fans is 3 years. All our bathroom fans are equipped with fully enclosed condenser motor for long life rated for 30,000+ hours continuous run with defect rate of less than 0.001%. Fans equipped with DC motor rated for 60,000+ hours continuous run.
Check Duct Adapter Orientation:
If installed correctly, the back flow prevention flap should be in closed position when the fan is not operating.
Check Duct Length:
Restricted airflow from long and winding ducting increase the load of fan motor thus increase fan noise. To isolate fan problem from ducting, removes the duct connecting to the fan and test the loudness. Some fan models comes with both 4 and 6-inch duct adapter. Use the 4-inch duct adapter if your existing duct size is 4-inch diameter. If one plans to replace with new ducting, we highly recommend using 6-inch diameter duct. Do not use 6-inch duct adapter for 4-inch duct as this will hinder airflow hence increase noise in the fan unit.
Water dripping from bath fan is usually caused by condensation inside the duct. In the winter, the warm moist air from the bathroom hits cool air in the attic or outside and it condenses, sending water drips back down. In the summer, humid air from outside can condense on a pipe cooled with air conditioning and drip when the bathroom air adds to the moisture level. Please also check the damper that comes with the items is installed properly, the damper should remain closed when the fan is not in use. You can access the damper to check it's position by disconnecting the power, remove the cover grille, detach the fan unit from the housing by removing couple screws. Try to run the fan during shower and then for 15 minutes afterward, this ensure all of the moisture is vented out of the bathroom and condensation isn’t building up in the ventilation duct.
